Where the question is specifically about hormones — energy, mood, libido, recovery, body composition - this panel provides the focused assessment without the broader health screen
What this panel assesses
FSH · Luteinising hormone (LH) · Total and free testosterone · Free androgen index · Prolactin · Sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) · Oestradiol
Why each one is there
Testosterone with SHBG and free androgen index - total testosterone alone is misleading; what matters is how much is biologically available.
LH and FSH - these establish whether a low testosterone is primary (originating in the testes) or secondary (originating in the pituitary). That distinction changes the management entirely.
Oestradiol - relevant in men too; an imbalance with testosterone affects recovery, mood and body composition.
Prolactin - elevated levels suppress testosterone, and a raised prolactin is an important finding in its own right.
