Dr Benjamin Viaris de Lesegno 

Dr Benjamin de Lesegno has cared for more than 20,000 patients over the past 20 years and has delivered more than 1,500 babies since the beginning of his career.

He is currently an NHS Consultant specialising in high-risk obstetrics and gynaecology. His role includes seeing patients in high-risk antenatal clinics, working on the labour ward, and fulfilling the full range of responsibilities expected of a senior NHS consultant.

Dr Benjamin maintains a private practice, seeing patients through Bliss Chelsea Clinic and Medicare Francais.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr de Lesegno plays a key role in teaching and training. He regularly educates medical students, junior doctors, midwives, nurses, and physician associates. He also leads on clinical audit, reflecting his strong commitment to clinical governance and the continuous improvement of patient care.

Earlier in his career, he worked as Chef de Clinique at Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP) and trained as a junior doctor at Caen Basse Normandie University. His academic background includes an MSc in Genetics and an MD in Fetal Medicine. He has conducted research, contributed to international clinical trials, and published widely in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. His findings have been presented at leading international medical conferences.

Teaching and research have long been an integral part of Dr Benjamin’s professional life. He is passionate about passing on knowledge to the next generation of healthcare professionals and currently teaches Imperial College London students on a weekly basis.

Beyond his hospital and academic roles, Dr Benjamin has worked extensively with humanitarian NGOs. He has provided vital care to women across the world, from rural India to refugee camps in Syria and Europe, including the Calais "jungle". Over the course of his humanitarian work, he has supported women from more than 20 nationalities across three continents.
